French Toast w/Mascarpone

French toast is a classic breakfast dish that many of us enjoy. But have you ever thought about taking it up a notch? In this recipe, we’ll show you how to make delicious French toast stuffed with creamy mascarpone cheese.

French Toast Stuffed with Mascarpone Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes (optional topping)
  • 2 tbsp mascarpone cheese
  • Brioche Bread (Or thick sliced bread)

Instructions

  • In a bowl mix together the eggs, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, sugars, salt, milk, and heavy cream and set aside
  • Spread the mascarpone cheese on one side of the brioche bread, create a sandwich with another slice, then dunk both sides of the sandwich in the milk and eggs mixture
  • Melt butter in a skillet and cook the bread on medium heat until golden brown on each side
  • Toast the coconut flakes in a skillet set to medium heat until golden brown
  • Serve the french toast with the toasted coconut flakes, your fruit of choice, whipped cream, and maple syrup.
